A concrete text fragment
If it is required to write down a concrete text fragment of the page opened in any browser on a disk it is possible to enter as follows: ■ select the saved fragment using a mouse and copy in a clip board (for example, having used Ctrl+C key shortcut); ■ insert clip board contents into any text editor (Ctrl+V). In case of an insertion it must be kept in mind that the WP of Word saves additional formatting of the text copied in the buffer. For example, if the text on the page contained hyperlinks, then they will be inserted into the document as hyperlinks; if at the page there was a table, then it will also be reproduced in the document. To get rid of formatting, it is possible to insert at first buffer contents in the editor Bloknot. Developers of the websites who care for the visitors who are interested only in contents of publications offer one more mode of “refuse collection”. Pages of such website have a ssylkutip “Printable version”. In case of slap shot on it the user gets on the page with the same contents but executed in ascetical style (fig. 5.4). Such page can be saved and bodily. Fig. 5.4. A printable version — anything superfluous 112 Searching on the Internet If, to the contrary, you are interested only the figures introduced on the page, then you can right-click in turn on each of them and in the opened shortcut menu to choose the Save Pictures as command… (To save a figure as…). NOTE Such option does not suit for preserving of other multimedia elements of the page. For example, you will not be able to save directly from a browser window a flash roller (to which there corresponds the file in the SWF format). How to bypass this restriction, without resorting to installation of additional programs, it will be told below. In case of visitation of some websites it can turn out that you are interested not in one page, and a little, connected with each other by hypertext links. If you use modem joint for connection to the Internet and read every minute, carried out to Networks, then hardly want to spend time for their attentive study. That also wolves (that is you) were full, and sheep (precious minutes) are whole, “crack” all pages which seem to you interesting, and be disconnected from the Network. After that all used references will remain operable, and you will be able without hurrying to repeat the route (beforehand it is necessary to select from the File menu the Work mode independently). At the same time transitions between pages need to be executed by means of links, but not by means of browser buttons Back and forth. Moreover, information on the visited pages is saved and after the window of the browser is closed, and even after reset of the computer. It is explained by the fact that the browser creates the copy of the page and all its elements (figures, descriptions of styles, scenarios etc) in the cache (that is in the special buffer). Authors of some pages prohibit the browser to save the uploaded pages in a cache. B an off-line mode (that is after switch-off from the Network) on such page will not be possible to follow neither the link, nor by means of buttons of navigation of the browser. It concerns also dynamically created pages. Nevertheless you have a chance again to see the “lost” page. For this purpose it is required neither more nor less… to get the browser into a pocket, that is into the cache mentioned above. If you work with the Internet Explorer browser, then for a page challenge from a cache perform the following operations. 1. B of the File menu select the item Work independently. 2. Open the Service menu and choose a command Internet Options. 3. On the tab the General Temporal files of the Internet in group click Parameters (fig. 5.5). 4. B an additional window (fig. 5.6) click Viewing of files; the folder used by the Internet Explorer browser will be open for a vre-zultata 5. As in this folder and files of pages (.htm,.html), and files of elements of pages (figures, style sheets, scenarios) “are heaped”, for facilitation of searching of the freshest pages right-click in the free area of a window of the folder and choose in the shortcut menu the Arrange Icons command ► the Last access (fig. 5.7). 6. Double click on the file of the page interesting you (or the file of registration if you are interested, for example, a figure or a flash roller) and in the opened dialog box with warning of possible danger of the opened file click Yes, to confirm the intentions. ■ Temporary Internet Fites File Editing Type Favorites Service Help 0 @® fnazad – Q – 0 Nepoisk ^Папки g^ ^ X> ^ Shch \~ the Address; |j^| G:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Fil v | ^J Transition P)? The Temporary Internet Files folder contains elements of all visited pages NOTE If the folder was empty or in it there are no files which are falling into to the pages visited some time ago check the cache parameters set in a window Parameters (see fig. 5.6). Particular B, be convinced that the sufficient size of a cache is established and that the cache was not moved to other place (by means of the Move button). Besides, recall, a leah you clicked to Delete files on the tab the General property bars (see fig. 5.5). Once again we will emphasize that all elements of all visited pages including a flash rollers (files of. swf) are included in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Therefore you can take away them from there and transfer to more convenient location. 5. To find and save 115 If you need to save any file which is stored in a cache, in other folder on a disk (for example, a figure, an audio file or a flash roller), use commands of copying and an insertion through Windows clip board. If you use for navigation on the Network the Opera or Firefox browsers, then can and at them “to rummage around on pockets”. However, each of these browsers gives to the user different opportunities for operation with cache contents. With Opera everything is rather simple — as a cache Opera\profile\Cache4 folder is used by default. It is the usual folder, and any file which is stored in it can be open by means of the associated appendix. The main problem by operation with a cache in Opera is that the browser appropriates to the saved resources names which he “invents”, and it significantly complicates searching of the necessary element of the page. Names of all files which are stored in a cache begin with the letters opr specifying belonging to Opera which four digits follow. However, this shortcoming can be read unessential if to open cache contents directly in a browser window: near a name of the cached Opera file will show its initial URL (fig. 5.8). “.
